Accessibility

Last updated: March 2026

AtWell Clinic is committed to ensuring that our website and our premises are accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability or the technology used to access our services.

Our website

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility and cover a wide range of recommendations for making content more accessible to people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.

What we have done

We have taken the following steps to support accessibility on our website:

  • Semantic HTML is used throughout, with appropriate heading hierarchy, landmarks, and ARIA labels to support screen readers and assistive technology.
  • All images include descriptive alternative text.
  • Colour contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG AA requirements across all text and interactive elements.
  • The website is fully responsive and usable on mobile devices, tablets, and desktop screens.
  • Interactive elements (links, buttons, and form controls) are navigable by keyboard alone.
  • Focus indicators are visible for keyboard users.
  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
  • We avoid content that flashes more than three times per second.
  • Form fields include clear labels and validation messages.

Conformance status

This website was last reviewed for accessibility compliance in March 2026. Testing was conducted using automated tools (axe DevTools, WAVE) alongside manual keyboard and screen reader testing. We believe we are partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, with some known limitations noted below.

Known limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas of the website may not yet be fully accessible. We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:

  • Some older PDF documents may not be fully compatible with screen readers. Where possible, we are replacing these with accessible HTML content.
  • Embedded third-party content (such as our online booking system or map) may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We are working with our providers to improve this.

We review our website accessibility regularly and aim to resolve any issues promptly.
